The Zonin family’s Castello del Poggio Delle Venezia Pinot Grigio draws fruit from sustainably grown vineyards in North-East Italy. It is typified by pure fresh green apple, pear, lemon glacé aromas and flavours, attractive minerally textures and crisp clean acidity. The Castello de Poggio brand is steeped in history going back to 1699 and the ancient fortress on the original property at Asti goes back to the 12th Century. After its acquisition in 1985 the Zonin family expanded the vineyards and extended the range to include wines from the Tre Venezie zone. This expansive landscape comprising the Veneto, Friuli-Venezia-Giuila and Trentino-Aldo-Adige wine regions broadly corresponds to the old Venetian Republic. High tech winemaking, “respect and care” for the environment and precision viticulture practices result in a signature light dry crunchy style with beautiful clarity and flavour intensity. It can be enjoyed as an aperitif or paired with salads, vegetarian dishes, white meats and seafood of all types.
