Transform an op-shop glazed ceramic vessel with a chic dark hue.

1 Wash and dry vase, then lightly sand outside and 50mm inside the lip using 220-320 grit abrasive paper. Wipe away dust with a lint-free cloth. 2 Working on a drop sheet and wearing safety gear, apply spray primer to the outside and lip; leave to dry. Tip: Use a cardboard box as a spray booth.
3 Apply light coats of spray paint from different angles to cover any details, leaving to dry after each coat.
